- Year Apr-3-33 A.D. The crucifixion of Jesus. To yell, scream, shout and protest against it. To give him water and give him a hand. It was just so unfair.
- 1492 and1519. Arrival of Christopher Columbus in America. To ask him for his green card and to let the Aztecs know that Hernan Cortez wasn’t a real god.
- Nov-22-1963. John F. Kennedy assassination. To give him a thick bulletproof jacket and a metal helmet before he got in that car.
- Feb-9-1964. The Beatles at the Ed Sullivan Show. To tape every girl’s mouth in the audience, so we could listen to history being made.
- 1968 Cesar Chavez United Farm Workers founder. Hunger strike, to be ready to serve him some food at the end of his 25 days of fasting.
- Apr-4-1968 Martin Luther King. To pay for an upgrade at the Hilton and to beg him to stay indoors all day.
- Jun-5-1968 to protect Robert Kennedy with a thick metal tray at the Ambassador’s kitchen. Two great Americans (those two brothers).
- Jul-20-1969 to help Neil Armstrong collect some rocks. He represents humankind better than most humans.
- 1969 Woodstock. Just to be among 500,000 rock fans, to listen to some decent music for three days and experiment some . . . of that stuff.
- Dec-8-1980 John Lennon dies. Just to kick the shit out of Mark Chapman. (This is personal)
- Jan-28-1986 Space Shuttle Challenger explosion. To challenge NASA to cancel the flight, and check the spaceship instead of the wreckage.
- 1987 First Apple II home computer sold. To buy some stocks.
- Nov-9-1989 the fall of the Berlin Wall. To jump from the wall in joy and to save a chunk of it as a souvenir.
- 1991 Soviet Empire collapses. Cold war: ‘it isn’t cold and it isn’t war’. Democracy for everyone, welcome to the free world.
- Mar-2-1991 the Rodney King beating. Just to be in the middle and receive half the blows. Terrible. Everything but the crucifixion. (Excuse the comparison)
- Apr-20-1999 Columbine High School Colorado. To persuade the perpetrators to play hooky, and let them play Russian Roulette instead.
- Sept-9-2001 World Trade Center. To lock the front doors of both buildings and throw the keys away to the ocean before anybody got in.
- Aug-29-2005 Katrina Hurricane. To do what?
- Near future. The pacifist evolution of Cuba, from communism to democracy. To celebrate freedom like an Independence. Fidel and Raul. (Two bad brothers)
- Near future. USA. We need a real miracle here. To get three good leaders in a row, to fix our precarious situation.
