Some people laugh at people who like or write poems. And those of us who like poetry can easily distinguish the haters from the lovers, the warm from the cold, the subtle from the rough, the sensible from the brute.
They might think we use rancid words that we belong in the Middle Ages, they might think we have antiquated feelings, centuries old passions, they might think that we are hopeless dreamers and romantic fools.
However, a poem is nothing but a beautiful song, a good friendly advice. A good poem is equal to a nurse curing sick or injured people. A good poem can make a criminal reflect on his actions. A good poem is a warm hug from a loving mother, or a kiss from a child or the birth of a baby. If you are a good person, your heart is full of poems.
If you can see the sun, the moon, the stars and the rainbow, you are a poet. And what about the ocean, the mountains and the earth giving birth to the moon, on a beautiful sunset, beyond a distant horizon. Expressing what your eyes see or what your heart feels.
I sure feel sorry for cold, practical people. They don't see how beautiful life is. Their tears never come out because those tears are drowning their hearts. And they cynically laugh at us, accusing us of being too soft, too tender and too weak.
I know I'm not too romantic or silly, but my heart falls for good, honest and gentle feelings. I can easily cry with a good movie, book or song, and I'm not ashamed of it. At the same time, I'll proudly defend my family and my country with my life. I will never allow injustices of any kind if I can help it.
The people that doesn't appreciate a good poem can never show their emotions, they are materialistic, indifferent people. Those cold people wouldn't even get warm in hell.
My assumptions might be inconclusive or baseless. It is highly probable that I can be wrong, but that's my opinion.
Also in my opinion, there could not be a worst-case scenario than to be married to one of those cold people.
That could kill your whole inspiration.
